Holt set for another new role

Northampton captain Andy Holt could again be pressed into service as an emergency striker at Gillingham. Holt - who started the season at centre-back but usually plays at left-back or left midfield - partnered Billy McKay in attack last weekend and created his goal in the 1-1 draw with Cheltenham. He may start there again as Craig King has returned to Leicester at the end of his loan spell and Leon McKenzie remains out with a thigh injury. Midfielder Kevin Thornton returned from illness as a substitute last weekend but pulled his hamstring and is now out for a further three weeks. Midfielder Ryan Gilligan is back in contention after his recovery from a bout of pneumonia.
