Harrad lured by Cobblers approach

Shaun Harrad insists the fact Northampton made him feel wanted was the main reason behind his move to Sixfields. Boss Ian Sampson made Harrad his number one priority during the January transfer window and he finally secured the services of the former Burton striker following a lengthy pursuit. "The gaffer here made it clear to me that I was his number one target and that meant a lot to me," Harrad told the Chronicle. "I had a few options this month and I would have had a lot of options if I'd waited until the summer, but Northampton really made me feel wanted. They were the only club that came in with a firm offer and I couldn't turn it down. "Feeling wanted was exactly the reason why I've come to Northampton. There was a lot of speculation about me going to this club and that club and I just tried to stay focused. "I wasn't playing and the fact that Northampton kept putting bids in really impressed me and made me feel wanted; hopefully I'll repay that with goals."
