Guinan refuses to get distracted by Bulls talk

Striker Steve Guinan insists he is focused on his duties at Northampton until told otherwise as he continues to be linked with the vacant managerial post at Hereford. Following Simon Davey`s sacking, Guinan would represent a popular choice with Hereford fans having enjoyed three stints at Edgar Street, scoring a total of 67 goals. The identity of Davey`s successor remains very much up in the air, with caretaker boss Jamie Pitman doing his chances no harm at all having orchestrated a turnaround in the club`s fortunes. And just days after the Cobblers` dramatic 4-3 defeat to the Bulls, journeyman forward Guinan has reiterated the fact he is still a Northampton player and will remain so unless otherwise told by Town boss Ian Sampson. "At the moment I'm an employee of Northampton Town. Unless Ian Sampson comes to me and tells me he's had an approach or I hear something else then that's the way it'll be," said Guinan. "I'm just preparing myself to come into work every day and train hard with the next game in mind."
