Gray slams friendly dismissal

The non-league side were reduced to 10 men when Dan Cotton challenged Cobblers' youth prospect Michael Jacobs and Gray believes it ruined the game as a contest. Steve Guinan and trialist Seb Harris scored the goals for Gray's side. He said: "It was always going to be classed as a training session and a chance for us to get a few minutes into some of the players. But you have to give teams like this respect and we complicated it a bit at times and made life hard for ourselves. "I was disappointed with the sending-off. I thought the referee could have just taken the boy to one side and asked him to be taken off. "For me, it just looked like two players going for a 50-50 but maybe their boy went off the ground a little bit. The pleasing thing is Crackers (Michael Jacobs) read the situation and got out of the way before he got his leg broken. "It wasn't like the player punched anyone, and it became a bit of a non-event after that."
