Gills boss expects quick reaction

Martin Allen's side remain top of League Two ahead of their midweek trip to face Northampton

The Gills suffered a surprise home defeat at the hands of Rochdale on Saturday but Allen refused to be too down about his side's display and is confident of an immediate reaction.

He told his club's official website: 'We all know what type of game it will be at Northampton so we will have to make sure our players are up and ready and ready to go again.

'But I don't think I need to do that because they know and I know we can all do better.'

Aidy Boothroyd too will be looking for his side to bounce back from a first-half display at Burton that he was none too happy with despite praise for his side's battling qualities.
