Colin Calderwood is poised to become the new assistant manager of Norwich City

Calderwood will move to East Anglia from Birmingham City alongside Chris Hughton who has been named as the new Canaries boss in succession to Paul Lambert who makes the opposite journey to the West Midlands as the latest man in the Aston Villa hotseat.

A promotion winning manager in his own right with the Cobblers and Nottingham Forest, Calderwood endured a torried spell in charge of SPL side Hibernian before becoming Hughton's number two at Birmingham.

Another former Sixfields boss, Stuart Gray is being linked a backroom role at Forest after leaving cash-strapped Portsmouth.
