The 20-year-old's quality will be of no surprise to Northampton Town fans after he scored 6 goals in 14 league games for the club while on loan from West Brom in the 2011/12 season.
Further loan spells at Brentford and Peterborough United followed but Berahino is now back with the Baggies and netted a hat-trick against Newport County in the League Cup recently.
He followed that up with the only goal of Thursday night's game against Moldova, Berahino's first appearance at Under-21 level, as Gareth Southgate enjoyed a win in his first game in charge.
