with a stand named after him Dave Bowen was born in Maesteg, Glamorgan on June 7 1928. He played for the Cobblers, Arsenal and Wales. He made 34 appearances for the club and managed the club twice including the famous climb through the leagues from Division 4 to Division 1 (Premiership now). The Cobblers spent just the one season in Division 1 in season 1965-1966 before the slide back through the divisions began. He died in Northampton on September 25 1995.
