Aidy Boothroyd has confirmed that Dave Artell will start the game while the Cobblers is weighing up a move for another experienced central defender in the shape of Darren Purse who has been on trial with the club.
Former Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday man Purse would certainly seem to fit Boothroyd's bill in terms of the type of player he is keen to sign.
He told the official NTFC website: "This year I'm going to go with a small squad and for anyone that we sign they have got to be capable of being a first team player and having an influence on the first team."
