Aidy Boothroyd landed the central defender from his former club (where he had given Cameron his professional debut) at the end of March to boost the Cobblers' squad ahead of the run-in.
Cameron, who has made three appearances to date for Town, is one of five players told by Coventry boss Steven Pressley that they will not be offered a new deal.
