Cobblers waiting on Beckwith

Northampton could be without defender Dean Beckwith for Saturday's visit of Macclesfield. Beckwith had to be replaced at half-time in the 2-1 defeat at Chesterfield in midweek with a groin strain and is a serious doubt. Ben Tozer was dropped by new manager Gary Johnson on Tuesday - with John Johnson moving from right-back to centre-back - but will return if Beckwith is ruled out. Striker Billy McKay is out for around six weeks after dislocating his elbow and Leon McKenzie is struggling with his knee problem. Midfielder Alistair Slowe has been released. Full-back Marcus Hall has missed the last two games through illness while defender Craig Hinton has had an injection in a long-standing knee injury and will be out for around a month. Midfielder Ryan Gilligan is available after a loan spell at Torquay while new signings Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi, Jamie Record and Steve Collis could all make their home debuts.
