Cobblers v Spireites clash falls
Premier League referee Peter Walton inspected the playing surface on Friday afternoon and reluctantly decided the game could not go ahead.[LNB]It means the entire League Two fixture list has been called off this weekend.[LNB]Walton said: "The staff here have done a terrific job and the majority of the pitch is in perfect condition.[LNB]"The problem is there is an area in front of the south stand that has become frozen in the last day or so and with that in mind I have had to call the game off."[LNB]The club had battled hard to get the game on and chairman David Cardoza paid tribute to the efforts of staff.[LNB]He said: "It was a monumental effort from all the staff involved. We were the last club in League Two still fighting to get our game on and there are only two games on in League One."[LNB][LNB]
