Cobblers still waiting on Courtney

Herbert missed the 1-0 win over Lincoln last weekend and has been rated at 50/50 to face the Shrimps. Steve Guinan scored his fifth goal of the season against the Imps and will lead the line alongside one of Herbert, Billy McKay or Adebayo Akinfenwa. Defender Dean Beckwith returned from a groin problem last weekend and is fit to continue while Sampson hopes to have wing-back Liam Davis available soon. Davis has missed the entire season to date after breaking a metatarsal in pre-season but is expected to return to training next Monday, while midfielder Abdul Osman is a doubt with a back injury. The Cobblers are five games unbeaten under Sampson and a win over Morecambe in the sides' first ever meeting could lift them to within three points of the play-off zone. John Johnson has had his loan from Middlesbrough extended by another two months while Pat Kanyuka could be in the squad after signing a three-month contract.
