Cobblers plan pitch inspection

The Cobblers remain confident of hosting the Spireites but have asked for volunteers to help clear the Sixfields pitch of the several inches of snow which has fallen in the last few days.[LNB]Stadium manager Avril Spraggon said: "We have been managing the situation as best we can based on the forecast available.[LNB]"The pitch was covered with the frost sheets before the New Year and those covers were removed ahead of the scheduled snow on Tuesday afternoon.[LNB]"That has allowed the snow to act as the best insulator of the pitch and at present the pitch is soft underneath the snow. Our plan is working so far.[LNB]"Plans are also in place to make sure the car parks, paths, steps, entrances and exits are made safe for spectators. We are doing everything in our power to get the game on and we are hopeful of doing so."[LNB][LNB]
