Cobblers pair set to make debuts

Johnson has arrived on a month-long loan from Middlesbrough and is poised to start at right-back while striker Herbert should be on the bench as caretaker manager Ian Sampson looks for his first win. Herbert has signed an 18-month deal from non-league outfit Long Buckby and will provide some much needed pace to the Cobblers side. Defender Chris McCready is available after a one-match suspension while midfielder Luke Guttridge is set for his first start of the season. Guttridge made his first appearance since picking up a knee injury in pre-season as a substitute last weekend as the Cobblers were defeated 2-1 by Rochdale. Wing-back Liam Davis is sidelined with a broken foot but Sampson has no other injury concerns.
