Cobblers Left Kicking Their Heels

Northampton's game against Gillingham on Saturday has been postponed

As with the Boxing Day trip to AFC Wimbledon, Saturday's game is off due to the wet weather that is saturating grounds across the country leaving Town to kick their heels during what is supposed to be the busiest period of the season for footballers.

A statement on the Cobblers official website reads: “Northampton Town’s npower League Two fixture at Gillingham on Saturday was postponed following a Friday lunchtime pitch inspection, with the Priestfield Stadium pitch waterlogged following the recent heavy rain.

“There is no new date for the rearranged game, but supporters who had already purchased tickets are advised to keep hold of them until a new date is confirmed, at which point refund information will be announced.”
