The Northampton Town chairman David Cardoza says that boss Gary Johnson will have the budget next season to build a "promotion-winning" team. The Cobblers, who lie 20th in League Two, have secured their Football League status after a bad start to the season. [LNB]"There are a lot of players out of contract so there will be an awful lot of money there," Cardoza explained to BBC Radio Northampton. [LNB]"He will be able to build a promotion winning team, we think." [LNB]Cardoza added: "He's not going to have money thrown at him - there's no need. [LNB]"Gary's been there and done it at a number of places and in a number of different divisions." [LNB]The Cobblers are away to Morecambe in League Two on Saturday for their final match of the season, but the highest position they can climb to is 16th. [LNB]"It's been a bitter disappointment. We draw a line under it and move on because it was that poor. [LNB]"I can't quite put my finger on why it all went wrong but it did. We won at Anfield (in the Carling Cup) and it went downhill from there," Cardoza said.
