Cobblers change pre-season plans

Northampton have already confirmed they will face Coventry at Sixfields on July 21. But the club will also arrange fixtures against less accomplished opponents in preparation for the type of challenges posed by League Two. "We are obviously gearing up for League Two and our pre-season opponents will be chosen with that in mind," Gray told the club's official website. "We are looking to confirm two or three games, and also have a number of local away games. We probably won't be going abroad this pre-season, but we hope to get five or six games in place against different opposition from different levels. "Pre-season is not about winning every game you play, it is about giving the players the best possible preparation for the new season, and that is what we will be aiming to do."
