Cobblers boss: We were punished

The Cobblers sit three points off the drop zone and although Gray was disappointed with the first-half showing, he said survival remains in their hands. The Lions won through a 35th-minute Gary Alexander goal, sending Town down to 18th place in the League One table. Gray said: "We were poor first half and gave a sloppy pass away which allowed Henry to get one-on-one with our full-back. "The two wide boys would cause any teams problems - you've got to come here and want it, fancy it and be up for it and we started too sloppily. I've said to the players that it's in our own control but what we can't do is rely on other teams to do us favours and we have got to sort ourselves out. "We've got three games in hand on some teams but I'd rather have points on the board - it's a fight and a scrap that we're in."
