Boss waits on trio

Northampton manager Ian Sampson will delay naming his team to face Accrington at Sixfields as he waits on the fitness of a trio of players. Defender Peter Gilbert, winger Andy Holt and top scorer Adebayo Akinfenwa all picked up injuries in Saturday's fine 1-0 win at Dagenham & Redbridge and are doubts for the in-form Cobblers. Sampson said: "We are hoping Peter Gilbert will definitely be fit but Andy Holt and Bayo are touch and go. "Bayo is probably 50/50 and Andy maybe a little bit better than that. Bayo has got a calf injury and Andy stretched his knee a little bit on Saturday but knowing Andy I'm sure he will be desperate to play." Winger Liam Davis could be on the bench after missing the last 14 games with a foot injury, but striker Steve Guinan remains sidelined as he recovers from a hernia operation. The Cobblers are unbeaten in their last 10 games and another win over Stanley could lift them to within two points of the play-off places.
