Midfielder Ryan Gilligan put the Cobblers ahead on the stroke of half-time before managerless Brighton rescued a point with a second-half header from Tommy Elphick.[LNB]Gray said: "We almost gifted Brighton the win in the end and after the last two or three minutes, I'm happy to get the draw.[LNB]"But we should have been comfortable early on and should have been 2-0 ahead at half-time. At the interval I thought the three points were definitely available to us. But a draw has stopped the rot."[LNB]Both sides were reduced to 10 men in the 65th minute after Brighton utility-man Adam Virgo and Northampton's Adebayo Akinfenwa were dismissed for violent conduct. The duo tangled on the halfway line following an initial challenge by Akinfenwa on Adam El-Abd.[LNB]And Gray admitted: "The referee confirmed that no punches were thrown. It was a wrestling match and a case of chests out and pushing. Both teams now lose a player for three games and we can't do anything about it."[LNB][LNB]
