Boothroyd Faces A Long Week

Northampton Town slipped to the foot of the League Two table after Saturday's defeat at Plymouth Argyle

More late heartache for the Cobblers means a positive result in next Sunday's live FA Cup fixture at Bishop's Stortford becomes all the more vital for Aidy Boothroyd after the vote of confidence he received from chairman David Cardoza during the week.

The television schedulers are clearly hoping for a surprise result but an FA Cup shock will surely spell the end for the Town boss.

His protestations that his current squad are much better than they are showing has some substance but entering November at the foot of the table was clearly not in the plans of anyone connected with the football club.
