Battling Cobblers frustrate Port Vale boss
Jim Gannon was left looking for positives after his side failed to beat ten-man Northampton Ian Sampson was by far the happier of the two managers after seeing his men bounce back from going behind to equalise and then hold out for a draw despite Abdul Osman's red card. Opposite number Gannon said: "Everybody would have to accept we should have won the game against 10 men and I'm disappointed we didn't. "We lacked a bit of composure and quality and it's two points dropped. The plus is we've now gone three games unbeaten, but we've only taken five points which isn't great. "We also had players who couldn't pass the ball and kept knocking it out of play. That would suggest we've got problems if players can't do the basics at this stage of their careers."
