Around League Two: Shots prepare for Manchester Utd visit

It's the biggest night in the history of Aldershot FC

Now known as Aldershot Town after their reformation in 1992, the Shots have risen back through the ranks and into the Football League.

On Tuesday night they will welcome the champions of England, Manchester United, to the EBB Stadium for a League Cup tie which has captured the imagination of the town.

Captain Ben Herd told BBC Surrey: "It will be a special night for everyone involved as well as the fans and the staff.

"But we can't get too over-awed by the occasion. We've got to remember it's a match and acquit ourselves well."

Financially of course the fixture will set Aldershot up for a long time to come, something Northampton know well themselves.

Town's FA Cup fixture against Manchester United in 2003/04 brought in record gate receipts at Sixfields of £220,000.
