Chairman Bill Bratt told BBC Radio Stoke: "His vision for the club was very good but it just didn't work out." Vale lie one place outside the play-offs at present but have a run of three successive home games now in which to move up the table. Caretaker boss Mark Grew also spoke to BBC Radio Stoke and said: "The be-all and end-all is to get the lads to win football matches now and to build the sort of team atmosphere that we had at the start of the season."
