Another Tough Away Test For Town

Northampton face Rotherham United this weekend

Strongly fancied for promotion in the summer, Rotherham are currently 9th in League Two but the competitive nature of the division is shown in the fact that they are only two points behind Northampton in 4th and Burton in the last automatic promotion spot.

Town felt themselves unlucky in defeat at Gillingham in midweek but will travel in confidence for their first visit to the New York Stadium, home of the Millers from the beginning of this season. Home comforts have been in short supply in recent weeks with both Barnet and Bristol Rovers earning surprise wins in South Yorkshire.

Captain Johnny Mullins told the official RUFC website after the defeat by Bristol Rovers: "We all want the same things and the ultimate aim is promotion.

"We're looking for a response on Saturday against Northampton and we want to give people a joyful weekend. We've all been miserable these last couple of weekends and I understand the fans are frustrated but so are we."
