Lagerback waiting on duo
Nigeria coach Lars Lagerback is confident left-back Taye Taiwo and Uwa Echiejile will feature in Tuesday's crucial Group B showdown against South Korea after both players sustained minor injuries against Greece.
He also revealed that Portsmouth striker Kanu could make an appearance after sitting out Nigeria's first two group games.
South Korea could hand a start to veteran striker Ahn Jung Hwan who is also yet to feature in this World Cup.
Lagerback's side are hoping to finally show their worth against South Korea.
The African side goes into the encounter in Durban on the back of two straight defeats in their opening World Cup matches.
"I am very positive about our game," said Lagerback. "Let's hope we can show that an African team can play well and get a result."
Lagerback expects a battle from start to finish against the 2002 semi-finalists, who beat Greece before losing 4-1 to Argentina.
South Korea coach Huh Jung-moo is confident his side can reach the last 16 of the World Cup for the first time on foreign soil.
South Korea know that victory over Nigeria would secure a place in the next round. Jung-moo said: "We are going to keep an eye on the other match. But the important thing is for us to play a good game and get a good result.
"Our players up until now have been preparing for the round of 16. We are almost there. We have been preparing for this for almost a year. This is the last match before we reach our goal and we are really going to fight hard in order to achieve this."
