VIDEO: How Liverpool Fans Greeted Manchester City's Team Bus on Their Arrival at Anfield

Liverpool's record at Anfield is as formidable as it gets - so much so that we're all beginning to lose track of their undefeated run on home turf.

It has been 900 days since their last Premier League or European defeat at Anfield, with top six sides the particular victims. None of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham have secured a league victory at the historic stadium in the last two seasons.

But although Pep Guardiola said ahead of City's title-defining visit there on Sunday that this is simply due to the 'quality of the opposition', there is no denying that the hostile atmosphere created by the passionate home crowd, which gets ramped up ten-fold for the big occasions, plays its part.

And that is not limited to the 90 minutes in which the game is played either, as evidenced by footage that has emerged of the Anfield faithful greeting the team buses ahead of kick-off.

Coming originally via the Associated Press' Rob Harris, footage of the typically tribal pre-match atmosphere spilling out onto the streets has gone viral.

Through the clouds of red smoke, boos, whistles and general other methods of intimidation greeted the Premier League champions as they arrived, with the Liverpool fans doing all they can to get into the heads of their opponents and help their side to a win that would go a long way towards ending a 30-year wait for a league title.

When the Liverpool bus arrived, it was of course a different story. Jurgen Klopp and his players were subject to a rapturous ovation, and one that will surely have given them a boost to their confidence ahead of the crucial kick-off.
