Tottenham Hotspur star Victor Wanyama is attracting the interest of German side Hertha Berlin, as the midfielder could be set for a move away from north London this January.
Wanyama has made only two league appearances this season for Spurs, and he has not featured domestically since José Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino in November.
According to The Sun (as cited by the Boot Room), Mourinho may allow the 28-year-old to leave the club in the January transfer window, and the Kenyan midfielder's availability has sparked the interest of relegation-threatened Hertha Berlin.
Former Spurs striker Jurgen Klinsmann recently took charge of the German side, who sit three points above the danger zone.
The 55-year-old boss is reportedly keen on recruiting the midfielder to add some steel to the heart of his side, and the fact that Wanyama has only featured for nine minutes of Mourinho's reign suggests that the club may be willing to listen to offers.
The ex-Southampton man is a high earner on the Tottenham wage bill, and it seems that a move away may be in the best interests of both parties, as the out-of-favour star could go in search of first-team football.
Wanyama was a key figure in the Spurs midfield in the 2016/17 season, but he has since struggled to overcome a series of injuries which have hampered his chances of nailing down a regular place in the starting lineup.
The Kenya international signed for Southampton from Celtic in 2013, and he starred for the Saints over a three-year period, before his £11m move to north London.
Wanyama's time at Spurs appeared to be over in the summer, when a £13m transfer fee was agreed with Belgian side Club Brugge, but the deal fell through as the player had doubts over the move.
Spurs have made a dramatic improvement under Portuguese boss Mourinho, who has lifted his side back into top-four contention.
