Player Details

Richard O'Donnell is a goalkeeper on the books of Sheffield Wednesday. The 2010-11 campaign proved a breakthrough season for Sheffield-born custodian Richard, for despite starting the season as third choice at Hillsborough he went on to make his senior debut for the Owls and enjoy a run of eight consecutive league starts in the spring of 2011.  An early-season loan spell with Grimsby Town was a prelude to a long-awaited first-team debut, in the 2-0 defeat at Southampton in March 2011, after both Nicky Weaver and Arron Jameson were unavailable through injury.  He showed great qualities during his run in the senior side and removed any doubts that he was an able back up to first-choice goalkeeper Nicky Weaver.
