Dublin-born midfielder Paul Keegan signed for Doncaster Rovers during the January 2011 transfer window after impressing during a trial. Having had experience in English football with Leeds and Scunthorpe, Paul returned to his native city and starred for Bohemians before taking the opportunity to join Rovers. His first start came in Rovers' 1-0 home win over Burnley, where he formed an effective partnership with skipper Brian Stock. Unfortunately, Paul's season was ended by a cartilage injury in March, but the tough-tackling Irishman had done enough to earn the offer of a new contract.
