Player Details

Martin Petrov is an attacking player who joined Bolton Wanderers in the summer of 2010. He is a dynamic left winger, able to run at pace with the ball at his feet and packs a powerful shot. Martin was a regular in the line-up for Bolton in the opening weeks of the 2010-11 season, but after this he was often used from the bench, although retaining his place in the matchday squad. Martin began his career in Bulgaria, playing for Botev Vratsa and CSKA Sofia before moving to Servette as a teenager. Spells with VFL Wolfsburg and Atletico Madrid followed before he arrived at Manchester City. Martin quickly settled into life in the Premier League but missed a large chunk of the 2008-09 campaign through injury. He was out of contract in the summer of 2010 and chose to move on. Martin represents Bulgaria at international level and after making his debut against England in June 1999 he has now played over 80 games for his country.
