Curtis Davies is a defender who signed for Birmingham City in the January 2011 transfer window. He is a centre back who is strong in the air, quick to get in his challenges and with good vision. Curtis was initially used as cover for Scott Dann and Roger Johnson as he settled in at St Andrew?s in the second half of the 2010-11 season. He started his career with Luton Town moving on to West Bromwich Albion at the start of the 2005-06 season. He went on to become one of the Baggies? youngest-ever captains before switching to Aston Villa, initially on loan. After a hesitant start he produced some reliable performances and he was a regular in the first team in 2008-09. A shoulder injury kept him out for a while in the 2009-10 season and on recovering fitness he found it difficult to get back in the team. Curtis spent three months on loan with Leicester City in 2010-11 before opting for a permanent move across the city to St Andrew?s.
