Player Details

Brede Hangeland is a tall central defender who signed for Fulham in January 2008, linking up again with his former manager Roy Hodgson. He is a defender who is elegant on the ball and prepared to thwart opposition attacks by guile or determination. Since arriving at Craven Cottage he has forged a rock solid defensive partnership alongside Aaron Hughes and has rarely been absent during his time with the club, making over 100 Premier League appearances. Brede missed just one game in 2010-11 when he also scored several valuable goals, notably a last-minute header to secure a 2-2 draw with Manchester United in the first home game of the season. Brede started out in Norway, where he came to prominence playing for Viking before spending two years with FC Copenhagen. He is currently captain of the Norway international team, for whom he has now won over 70 caps.
