Andy Wilkinson is a defender who developed through the youth set-up with Stoke City, graduating to the professional ranks in the summer of 2001. Andy is a committed right back, who is strong in the tackle and has a confident approach to his game. He made his first-team debut in a Freight Rover Trophy tie back in October 2001 and subsequently spent time developing in loan spells elsewhere. He went on to overcome injury problems, and eventually earned an extended run in the line-up during the 2007-08 promotion season. A regular squad member since then, competition from Robert Huth and Marc Wilson restricted his opportunities at right back in 2010-11, but he was in the line-up in the closing weeks and featured in both the FA Cup semi-final and final games at Wembley. He made his 100th League appearance for the Potters at White Hart Lane in April.
