Manchester United have joined the race to sign Reading striker Danny Loader following his breakthrough with The Royals, according to one report.
19-year-old Loader has been earning a reputation as one of the most exciting players outside of the Premier League ever since he broke into Reading's first team last season. He was also part of England's Under-17 side that lifted the World Cup in 2017.
The young forward has attracted interest from a handful of top-flight clubs during that time and ever from across Europe, but The Daily Mail claims that Manchester United are now in the race for his signature at the end of the season.
The teenager only put pen to paper on a new contract at the start of the year, but Reading could only secure Loader's future until 2022.
The England Under-20 international appears destined for bigger and better things in the near future, and Loader even appointed new representatives as a move away from the Madejski Stadium draws ever closer.
Loader's only scored one goal in his 29 senior appearances for the Royals so far, but it's claimed that Manchester United are more open to recruiting players from the Championship after the impact that Daniel James has had in the Premier League.
The Wales international moved to Old Trafford in a £15m deal from Swansea City ahead of this season, going on to score three goals and pick up three assists across all competitions already.
The Daily Mail don't mention if Manchester United would look to bring a deal for Loader forward to the January transfer window, although without a truly recognised striker at the club - both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial often feature out wide - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could look to fast track the move.
In recent months, United have been targetting young British talent and have also been linked with Leeds' Kalvin Phillips and West Ham's Declan Rice among others.
