Leicester's Brilliant Scoring Form on the Road Summed Up With Remarkable Statistic

Leicester City's latest victory against Aston Villa on Sunday saw the Foxes move six points clear of Manchester City in third, and within eight points of league leaders Liverpool.

Two more goals from Jamie Vardy as well as contributions from Jonny Evans and in-form Kelechi Iheanacho helped Leicester win their eighth straight Premier League game - the first time they have ever done so in the top flight.

With their top four bid going brilliantly - sitting 14 points above fifth place - many think Leicester are Liverpool's only real competitors for the Premier League crown as winter's busy festive fixture list looms.

But just as remarkable as their winning streak, or their points tally, are their recent performances on the road.

Brendan Rodgers' side have won their last four Premier League away games, defeating Southampton, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Villa by an aggregate score of 17-1, courtesy of Opta.

Admittedly skewed by their 9-0 hammering of Southampton, Leicester's away record has been superb recently and is beginning to take the shape of a title-challenger's form. The Foxes' stoic defensive displays and breathtaking attacking dynamism have surprised most this season, and there are no signs of their performances letting up.

While the entirety of Leicester's team are performing unbelievably well, there are individual plaudits to be had for star striker and talisman Jamie Vardy. His two goals against Aston Villa took his league tally to 16 for the season, five more than any other player.

The striker also scored in an eighth consecutive Premier League match making him the first person to do so since...well, himself back in 2015/16. If he were to net in each of his next four matches, he would beat his own league record of 11 consecutive games with a goal.

Leicester face promoted Norwich in their next outing, before back-to-back league clashes with Manchester City and Liverpool at Christmas.
