Jurgen Klopp Urges Liverpool Fans to Stay Away From Manchester City Team Bus

Jurgen Klopp has urged Liverpool's supporters to use their "fan power" to inside the ground and avoid a repeat of the Champions League quarter final in April 2018 when Manchester City's team bus was badly damaged by Reds fans.

There was no such incident when the two sides met at Anfield in the Premier League last season, but fresh concerns have been raised due to a social media post that asked home fans to line the Citizens' potential route to the ground, when the teams face off on Sunday.

While Klopp admitted that he could not guarantee that the unsavoury scenes from 2018 would not be repeated, he encouraged Liverpool supporters to focus on creating a hostile atmosphere inside Anfield.

"I'm a big believer of fan power - in the stadium," the German said, as reported by the Liverpool Echo. “That's completely different.

“(The coach incident) was a senseless thing. If somebody at Man City is concerned still, then it's our fault. Not that we did it all together, we all didn't thrown the bottle or whatever it was, but it was one of us.

“That's why we are responsible. All of us have to make sure that something like this will never happen again."

Liverpool can move nine points clear at the top of the table with a win on Sunday and Klopp wants everyone at the club to be on form for the big occasion.

"We have to play our best game, everybody in the stadium has to be in absolutely top shape. The guy who sells the hot dogs has to be in the top shape," the Reds boss quipped.

"Everybody has to be from the first second, come early into the stadium, come inside, nothing to do outside, wait for the team warming up, be there, all that stuff. That's what I wish for.

“We have to invest all our emotions before the game.”
