Newcastle's captain Jamaal Lascelles has suggested he wishes to stay at St James' Park for the remainder of his playing career.

As reported on ChronicleLive, Lascelles confirmed he likes the idea of staying at Newcastle for the remainder of his professional career.
When asked about his plans for the future, and if he wanted to reach '200 or 300 games' for the club, he said: "From playing first team football the players who have caught my eyes are the ones who stay at a club the whole time."
He elaborated: "I think that's a bit more special than a player who skips around team - a season here and there, where as a player who sticks at one club and has a relationship with the fans, and the city, and Newcastle as a whole, I'd much prefer to do it that way."

In his recent interview with NUFC TV, Lascelles confirmed that his family were settled in Newcastle - a city he described as 'lovely', and that he had a second child on the way.
The Englishman added that, after the Magpies latest Premier League defeat to Palace, he had mixed feelings about reaching the 100-game landmark.
"It's a huge achievement for me to play 100 times in the Premier League for Newcastle and I'm proud. I didn't know it was my 100th Premier League appearance - I'm over the moon with that. I wish we had got the three points - and it would have been way better."

Despite the result, Lascelles remained proud of his record. He added: "Still it is a big achievement for myself, and I'm looking forward to get many more hopefully. From where I started off - it's a dream."
Having joined Newcastle from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2014, Lascelles did not make his first Premier League start until January 2016.
Since then, he has been an irreplaceable member of the defence, and the Magpies defensive record has improved following his recent return from a long-term injury

"It's a big task - from playing academy football, and seeing so many lads come and go, from youth football not many make it.
"So to go from that to the first team, the move to Newcastle, then to establish myself in the Premier League is a huge achievement, and I am proud."
After their defeat at Selhurst Park, Steve Bruce's side have won just once in their last nine league games. They will hope to return to winning ways on Saturday when they host 10th-placed Burnley at St James' Park.
