Sevilla midfielder Enzo Maresca has been handed a four-game ban after head-butting Atletico Madrid forward Sergio Aguero at the weekend.
Maresca had only just come on as a second-half substitute for Christian Poulsen when he launched his attack on the Atletico star.
The Italian has apologised for the incident but will now miss the games against Villarreal, Almeria, Real Madrid and Real Mallorca at a crucial time for Sevilla.
Maresca's side is currently sixth, two places and five points behind Atletico with nine games of the season remaining.
