Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti picked up his 50th Premier League win in Saturday's 2-1 win over Newcastle United, in what was just his 78th game in the division.

Two goals from striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin were enough to cancel out Fabian Schär's strike and fire Everton to their third victory in the five matches since former boss Marco Silva was sacked.

As noted by Opta, only four managers have reached 50 Premier League wins faster than the 78 games it took Ancelotti.

The Italian won 49 games across his two seasons with Chelsea between 2009 and 2011, and his 27 wins during his first season were enough to lead him to the Premier League title that campaign.

Leading the way is current Tottenham Hotspur boss José Mourinho, who picked up 50 wins in just 63 games during his first spell with Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola managed 50 in 69 games with Manchester City, finishing just ahead of former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, who needed 73 games to reach the milestone.

Fourth in the standings is former City and West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini, who reached his 50th win in his 75th game in the competition, but Ancelotti was not far behind the Chilean.

Everton will certainly be hoping that Ancelotti's fantastic record in England will inspire them to climb further up the Premier League table this season.

The Toffees' current five-game unbeaten run has seen them rise to tenth in the league table, and they are now seven points clear of the relegation zone.

Club officials are eager to see Everton climb even higher and challenge for European qualification, while Ancelotti himself has confessed that he wants to guide Everton towards the Champions League in the near future.

They are just five points behind sixth-placed Spurs, and they will look to close that gap when they travel to face City on New Year's Day.
