Edinburgh to ring changes

Newport boss Justin Edinburgh looks set to freshen up his side when they host high-flying Scunthorpe.

The Exiles were on their way to three valuable points on Tuesday night until two late goals from AFC Wimbledon saw them leave Rodney Parade with the points.

Captain David Pipe was an unused substitute against the Dons and he could start while Rene Howe will also hope to feature after playing a part in the Exiles' goal having stepped off the bench.

Other options for Edinburgh include striker Shaun Jeffers and midfielder Lee Minshull as they look to cut the seven-point gap between themselves and the play-off places.

Scunthorpe manager Russ Wilcox is expected to name his side for the game from an unchanged squad.

Wilcox made no changes for the midweek draw against Bristol Rovers and has no new injury or suspension worries as his side moved to within two games of equalling the club's unbeaten league record set in 2007.

Defender Andy Dawson was among the substitutes again on Tuesday night following a hip injury and is hoping to make his first appearance since November, but striker Deon Burton remains sidelined with a calf injury.

The Iron, unbeaten in 17 games since Wilcox took charge in November, could return to the top of the table with victory.
