Newport bring in Josh Sheehan and Jordan Green on loan ahead of MK Dons clash

Newport's preparations to host MK Dons in the EFL Cup have been boosted by the signings of Josh Sheehan and Jordan Green on loan deals until January.

Both have signed in time to be eligible to face the League One outfit at Rodney Parade, subject to County receiving international clearance for Green.

Swansea midfielder Sheehan, a Wales Under-21 international, has experience of League Two following spells last season with Yeovil, where he made 16 appearances.

Forward Green, also 21, is a highly-rated prospect at Bournemouth and will add to manager Warren Feeney's attacking options.

Dons boss Karl Robinson has taken the unusual step of naming his team a day before the game.

Speaking after Saturday's 1-0 win at Shrewsbury, Robinson said he would name a weakened side on Monday so supporters could decide whether or not to travel to south Wales.

The starting line-up includes new signings Lee Nicholls and Scott Wootton, while returning defender George Williams will make his first start at right-back.

Otherwise, the side will be made up of young professionals and apprentices, including 16-year-old David Kasumu as well as second-year scholars Andrew Osei-Bonsu and Brandon Thomas-Asante.
