Exiles waiting on Scot Bennett news

Newport boss John Sheridan will hope that defender Scot Bennett can recover from injury in time for the Rodney Parade visit of Luton on Saturday.

Bennett was hurt during an impressive 1-1 draw at Oxford on Tuesday, a result that stretched County's unbeaten run in all competitions to eight games.

Despite enjoying a revival in fortunes under Sheridan's leadership, though, their home league form remains an issue.

County have not won at Rodney Parade in the league this season and their last home success outside of cup action was a 1-0 victory against Luton just over eight months ago.

Luton's Luke Wilkinson faces a late fitness test before manager John Still names his team.

The defender missed Tuesday's 4-3 home defeat to Carlisle owing to a thigh strain, and remains a doubt.

Nathan Doyle and Magnus Okuonghae may be involved despite a lack of match fitness, but Ruddock Mpanzu (ankle) is definitely out, and Dan Potts (hamstring) and Luke Guttridge (knee) are doubts.

Paul Benson is also unavailable, given he will serve the second of a three-match suspension.
