Sandell stunner boosts Exiles
Andy Sandell's stunner helped Newport earn a deserved 1-1 draw with promotion-chasing Burton.
Sandell gave County a fifth-minute lead with a thunderbolt from 25 yards.
But Michael Symes equalised from the penalty spot in the 36th minute after Darcy Blake pulled down Dominic Knowles.
County striker Chris Zebroski had a shot cleared off the line by Dave Gray seven minutes before the break and Zebroski and Lee Minshull went close immediately after the interval for the home side before Mike Flynn hit the post with a header.
Burton goalkeeper Dean Lyness then produced a superb reaction save to deny Robbie Willmott in the 52nd minute.
But the Brewers almost grabbed the lead against the run of play with 17 minutes to go when substitute Alex MacDonald hit the post with a long-range drive.
County nearly gifted the visitors a late second when Adam Chapman was caught in possession but Matty Palmer wasted the opening by firing over.
Sandell went close to netting a winner in injury time but his header was pushed around the post by the excellent Lyness.
