Barnet cruise to win over Newport

Barnet claimed just their third away win of the season as they cruised to a 3-0 win at Newport in Sky Bet League Two.

Skipper Andy Yiadom gave the Bees an early lead, with Mark Randall and John Akinde adding the other goals as their hosts were beaten on home turf in the league for the first time in 2016.

Barnet got the opener in the ninth minute as Alie Sesay found space down the left and his pull back was side-footed home by midfielder Yiadom.

County responded well with winger John-Christophe Ayina forcing Barnet keeper Jamie Stephens into a sharp save from his fierce volley.

But the visitors doubled their lead in the final minute of the first half after Akinde went over under pressure from Danny Holmes to win a penalty.

Randall tapped in the rebound after the striker's spot-kick was saved by Joe Day.

Akinde got on the scoresheet when he headed in Luke Gambin's cross in the 69th minute to put the seal on an excellent night's work for Martin Allen's men.
