Toon Tell Clarky 'Harper Stays Here'!

Lee Clark has had his hopes dashed by Newcastle United in his efforts to sign Steve Harper.

Clark yesterday signed former Newcastle United striker Peter Lovenkrands on a two-year deal, but was snubbed when he tried to take Harper.

Birmingham could lose highly-rated England goalkeeper Jack Butland this summer, and Harper told reporters he isn’t ready to hang up his gloves just yet

Pardew is reluctant, at this stage, to let Harper leave the club.

Harper is hugely experienced on the European stage, while Rob Elliot, back-up to first-choice Tim Krul for much of last season, hasn’t played in Europe, and is also untested in the Premier League.
