Joey Barton is on the Newcastle comeback trail after playing 45 minutes of a behind-closed-doors friendly with Scottish side Hibernian. Barton has spent almost six months on the sidelines after breaking a bone in his foot in the 3-1 league victory over Plymouth on 19th September. The 27-year-old played in the first half of a 4-1 victory over Hibernian at the Magpies' Darsley Park training headquarters on Monday.
