The Insider: Emmanuel Adebayor set for Real Madrid, Chelsea consider Daniele De Rossi

Simon Jones is Sportsmail's man on the inside of all the major transfer moves this summer. His column, published every weekday, offers an insight into the deals which will be done and those that won't - and why. A 5/5-rating means The Insider reckons it's a done deal; 0/5 means The Insider has his mortgage on it not happening. The 29-year-old spent last season on loan in his native Argentina at River Plate and unfortunately played a significant role in their demise as they were relegated for the first time in their 110 year history. Pavone scored nine goals in 32 appearances, but notoriously scored one and missed a penalty in the crucial second leg of their play-off decider against Belgrano which they drew 1-1 but needed to win by two clear goals. A riot ensued with 65 people injured. It will be more peaceful in Lancashire but Rovers will still be hoping he can score more than he misses. Pavone is available on a free having bought out his contract at Betis and will be the first of potentially two new strikers for Kean. Talks are ongoing also with Monaco defender Cedric Mongongu. De Rossi has one year left on his contract and negotiations have failed to move forward with his club Roma. Director of sport Walter Sabatini has stressed that talks are ongoing with De Rossi regarding a new deal at the Stadio Olimpico. He said: 'I will not weaken the squad by selling De Rossi. He said many times that he wants to stay and so we will certainly reach an agreement.' That has yet to happen. New coach Luis Enrique has been linked with another Chelsea and Manchester City target Javier Pastore at Palermo and the Argentinian has expressed a desire to stay in Italy should he leave. Real Madrid's Sergio Canales is another possibility. De Rossi is a more complete player though and would be a huge loss to ambitious Roma. He is interested in what other clubs have to say with Chelsea and Manchester City expressing more than passing interest via intermediaries. He is now 27 and this will be his biggest contract.  EMMANUEL ADEBAYORManchester City to Real Madrid THE INSIDER says: 3/5 NILE RANGER Newcastle to Blackpool  THE INSIDER says: 3/5 Jose Mourinho went public with his potential list of targets yesterday and admitted Adebayor may be the easiest transfer to conclude. Manchester City would have no qualms with that as they grow frustrated with Adebayor's behaviour and there is no love lost on his part either. The problem has always been whether City come down on their fee. Real want to pay around ?6m to ?8m and City want around ?12m for the 27-year-old. However, there are people at Real who believe Mourinho may yet be playing a game to smoke out the real desires of their other targets Sergio Aguero of Atletico and Neymar of Santos to see if they make any comments about wanting to join Real above others. Aguero has always been politically difficult owing to the relationship with their neighbours and City ironically hope to take advantage of that whole Neymar may stay a little longer in Brazil. Another target Didier Drogba looks likely to stay at Chelsea for now. It could be the news Adebayor has been praying for. Blackpool have a greed a fee with Newcastle of around ?1.5million which will rise further depending on appearances but the problem is understood to be the wages on offer still fall short of what Ranger wants. The other distraction is whether West Ham will follow up their interest in the 6ft 1in striker. Manager Sam Allardyce knows Ranger well and would want him to lead the line with Kevin Nolan playing behind and that would be effective in the Championship and prove a good education for Ranger as he continues to develop. West Ham are also keen on Leeds' Max Gradel who could provide good crosses and weigh in with goals himself. It leaves Blackpool with some persuading to do as they look to replace DJ Campbell who has held talks with West Ham also but is due to speak to QPR too. Blackpool have signed Kevin Phillips and remain in talks with Liverpool over loan moves for Thomas Ince and Gerardo Bruna. Barry Ferguson is also still on the agenda.   Don't miss your daily instalment of The Insider every weekday through the transfer window here at MailOnline. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR FREE FANTASY FOOTBALL GAME Club-by-club guide to all the Barclays Premier League summer transfersPREMIER LEAGUE NEW KIT SPECIAL: Strips your team will wear in 2011-12
