Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce has dismissed speculation that Magpies midfielder Kieron Dyer could be allowed to leave the club to join Spurs.
The 28-year-old England international has been linked with a move South to head to White Hart Lane, but Allardyce has slammed such talk.
He told The People: "Anyone saying that I want Kieron to leave is talking utter rubbish.
"He was one of the successes of last year in that he appears to have overcome his major injury problems.
"I have spoken to Kieron. He is such a versatile player that he can get used in a number of positions and that can be difficult for him sometimes.
"But I will take the brunt of it if he has to be moved around. We want to grow together."
Dyer has suffered a catalogue of injury problems during his eight years with the Magpies, but has still scored 36 goals in 242 appearances for the Tyneside club.
